Starting on May 2, 2026, Uruguay’s Ministry of Environment, through DINACEA, will begin enforcing compliance with the Plan Vale packaging management program. The control applies to brand owners, importers of packaged products under Decree 260/007, and producers or importers of single-use packaging covered by RM 271/2021, ensuring their registration remains valid. A valid registration is mandatory to manufacture or import non-returnable packaged products for commercialization in the national territory, as Plan Vale supports compliance with national packaging waste targets.
