The Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS) has issued a public notice for the proposed amendment of the Safety Management Operational Guidelines for Electrical Appliances and Consumer Products and one type of Electrical Appliance Safety Standard (KC 62133-2). – Operational Guidelines: Expansion of safety standards explicitly covering the product category of ‘Batteries’ (Annex 25). – Safety Standard Updates: Revisions to safety standard KC 62133-2 (Safety of Sealed Lithium Secondary Batteries for Portable Devices) to clarify its scope of application, update terms and definitions, and modify certain marking/labeling requirements.
