The Ministry of Economic Development and Production (MDEP), through the Ecuadorian Standardization Service (INEN), has announced the draft of the Second Revision of the Ecuadorian Technical Regulation RTE INEN 083, «Televisions and Decoders of the ISDB-T International Terrestrial Digital Television Standard.» RTE INEN 083 establishes mandatory standards for specific television equipment commercialized in Ecuador. It applies uniformly to both domestic and imported products sold within the country. Specifically, the regulation covers integrated full-seg television receivers and standalone decoders compatible with the International ISDB-T digital terrestrial television standard.
