Taiwan – Order No. 11330004310 Interpretive Rule of Product Inspection Standards Related to the Legal Inspection of Luminaires for Indoor General Lighting

​Recently, Taiwan Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI)​ issued Order No. 11330004310 to clarify that lamp products with a single screw-type lamp base (without lampshade) and other parts required for supporting and fixing the light source are subjected to commodity inspection. Such lamp items and relevant parts must meet the inspection requirements before they can be imported or shipped out from the factory. For goods that have been imported or shipped out of the factory before December 31, 2024 and do not meet the inspection requirements, the Bureau may notify the person responsible to recall or make improvement to the products. Starting from January 1, 2025, any such product that does not comply with the inspection regulations upon importing or transporting ​out of the factory shall be subjected to penalty according to the Commodity Inspection Act.​
