On June 24, 2026, the Federal Council amended several ordinances, thus adopting new rules for packaging, waste and littering. These changes promote the circular economy, strengthen recycling and implement uniform fines for littering throughout Switzerland. – Waste Ordinance VVEA – Packaging Ordinance VerpV The Federal Council adopted the amended ordinances on June 24, 2026. The VVEA amendments will come into force on August 1, 2026, and the Packaging Ordinance will apply at the beginning of 2027, and and replace the previous Beverage Packaging Ordinance (VGV).
