The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) has prepared a draft standard «SASO/FDS/33192:2023: Motor vehicles – Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) – Requirements for Public Transport Vehicle Operation». This standard concerns both individual components as well as system environment intended to be used in public transport vehicles, goods transport vehicles and vehicles used for general purpose by the government entities in their fleet. Functionalities covered under this Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) standard, necessary for installing the device (standard of the device itself) as standalone device are: a. Vehicle Location Tracking b. Monitor traffic violations and traffic enforcement c. Emergency Request Button to indicate safety/panic situation caused by human or natural disaster or vehicle accident d. On board mass monitoring system
