El Salvador – Technical Regulation RTS No.13.07.01:26 Certified Safety Helmets for Motorcyclists and Passengers

​The Salvadoran Technical Regulation Agency OSARTEC​ notified WTO in July 2026 regarding the Technical Regulation (RTS) No.13.07.01:26 – Certified safety helmets for motorcyclists and passengers. Technical specifications, labelling requirements and definitive importation. This notified regulation establishes the mandatory technical specifications, test methods, and labelling and certification requirements for safety helmets for motorcycle users (motorcyclists) manufactured, imported definitively, marketed or distributed in the national territory. It applies to the manufacture, definitive importation, marketing and distribution, in the national territory of the certified safety helmets for motorcycle users (motorcyclists). Protective helmets to be used with bicycles and pedal-assist bicycles are excluded from this regulation. This RTS will come into force 6 months after the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
