On 4th and 5th December 2024, the JURI committee considered the draft opinion on the 2023 discharge: General budget of the EU (Court of Justice of the European Union) and voted on the decision to enter into interinstitutional negotiations regarding the dossier Compulsory licensing for crisis management and amending Regulation (EC) 816/2006. Members furthermore held an exchange of views on the Proposal for the AI Liability Directive (2022/0303(COD)).
The Legal Affairs committee additionally hosted the Commission’s presentation on the outcome of negotiations on the draft Council of Europe Convention on the protection of the environment through criminal law. The committee furthermore, organized an interparliamentary meeting with National Parliaments on eJustice. Finally, two experts in the fields presented the following two studies to Members: the «One in, one out» and the «Public benefits status and CMD systems for associations and non-profit organisations in the EU».
