South Korea – Amendment of Enforcement decree of the Act on Resource Circulation of Electrical and Electronic equipment and Vehicles

Ministry of Environment announces amendment of Enforcement decree of the Act on Resource Circulation of Electrical and Electronic equipment and Vehicles. This amendment expands the scope of items subject to restrictions on the use of hazardous substances, thereby considering the impact on the human body and the environment by limiting the content of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products, facilitating recycling, and actively responding to international standards in domestic laws by reflecting the recent revisions to the EU RoHS II Directive. Regulatory content: Expansion of all products subject to restrictions on the use of hazardous substances – Imposing mandatory restrictions on the use of hazardous substances on all electrical and electronic products other than the current 49 products (excluding exceptions such as industrial equipment and transportation) Final date for comments: November 04, 2024.​
