This Draft Mexican Official Standard – PROY-NOM-014-ENER-2024 on Energy efficiency of alternating current electric motors, single-phase, induction, squirrel cage type, air-cooled, with nominal power from 0.180 kW to 2.238 kW , establishes the minimum energy efficiency values, the test method, the marking requirements and the conformity assessment procedure; applicable to alternating current electric motors, single-phase, induction, squirrel cage type, air-cooled, whether open or closed, continuous regime, single rotation speed, with nominal power from 0.180 kW to 2.238 kW, 2, 4 or 6 poles, split phase, or capacitor start, or with two capacitors, or permanent capacitor connected, which are imported, manufactured or marketed within the territory of the United Mexican States. It protects the legitimate objective of public interest, in relation to the use and exploitation of natural resources of the Quality Infrastructure Law. Electric motors that require auxiliary or additional equipment for cooling are excluded.
