This draft standard SI 11130 on Children’s Furniture – Cribs – Safety requirements and test methods, is a revision of the mandatory standards SI 682 parts 3 and 4. This standard revision adopts the European Standard EN 1130:2019/AC: December 2020, with a few changes that appear in the standard’s Hebrew section. The major differences between the old version and this new revised draft standard are as follows: – Combines SI 682 parts 3 and 4 into one new standard; – Changed the standard’s structure to include a new risk-based approach; – Adds and updates the test methods; – Adds new requirements and test methods for hanging and attaching cribs; – Adds new requirements regarding the chemical and thermal risk factors; – Adds a rationale in Annex A. Both the old and the new revised standards will apply from entry into force of this revision standard, for a transition period of 6 months. During this time, products may be tested according to the old or the new revised standard.
