The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) amends the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs) to add an exception from the lamp and reflective device requirements for license plate lamps on the rear of truck tractors while towing a trailer. This amendment removes an unnecessary regulatory requirement without impacting safety. Petitions for reconsideration of this final rule must be submitted to the FMCSA Administrator no later than March 23, 2026.
