USA – CPSC Approves Final Rule to Implement eFiling for Certificates of Compliance

​The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has approved a new rule to implement electronic filing (eFiling) of Certificate information for regulated, imported consumer products. The goal is to enhance the targeting of high-risk shipments and improve consumer safety. eFiling Requirements: – Applicable to all imported consumer products subject to mandatory safety standards, including de minimis shipments. – Importers must electronically file various data elements at the time of entry, such as: – Identification of the finished product. – Party certifying compliance. – Consumer product safety rules the product was certified against. – Date and place of manufacture. – Details of the most recent compliance testing. – Contact information for the person maintaining test records.
