The new Ecodesign Regulation and Energy Labeling Regulation set minimum standards and labeling requirements for mobile phones, cordless phones, and tablets sold in the EU, aiming to make these devices more durable, repairable, energy-efficient, and consumer-friendly. These measures aim to reduce electronic waste, promote sustainability, encourage repairability, and empower consumers with transparent information to drive environmentally friendly purchasing decisions. These regulations came into effect on June 20, 2025.
