Tiempo estimado de lectura: 35 segundos

The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) recently notified WTO regarding revision on the draft standard SASO 2874 on large capacity air-conditioners. This standard specifies the Minimum Energy Performance standard (MEPS) and testing requirements for large capacity air conditioners for the following main product categories – Electrically operated air conditioners. – Condensing units. – Chillers. – Absorption chillers. – Electrically operated variable refrigerant flow (VRF) air conditioners. – Ceiling-mounted, Floor-Mounted air conditioners and condensing units serving computer rooms. The standard applies to air conditioners designed to operate with single-phase circuits or three-phase circuits (Frequency of 60 Hz). Based on the feedback received, the following updates have been made to the standard: 1. Inclusion of an option for testing as per the international ISO standard for Electrically Operated Unitary Air Conditioners and Heat Pumps, Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) And Applied Heat Pump Air Conditioners (Specific Minimum Energy Performance Standard (MEPS) requirements included). Also, an option for testing as per the European Standard for Chillers Air Conditioner has been included. 2. Addition of a tolerance allowance of 10% between the rated and tested values for energy efficiency metrics (SEER, SEER on IEER & IPLV).
